The Components of the Project

The core elements of the study will be concentrated on building genealogical datasets of

• the direct and indirect ancestors and descendants of each of Chris Heron's parents,  Captain Reginald Heron MC and his wife Agnes Henrietta, nee Barratt,  both now deceased.  

• a compilation of basic information concerning anyone found with the Heron surname and the most common derivatives of it even though they appear to be unrelated to the family which is being focused on here. This will follow a 'one name study' pattern in the hope that as many of those found can eventually be linked to a common root individual.

• a dynamic GEDCOM base for comparing, consolidating, transferring and exchanging all the data collected.

A comprehensive and dynamic family history information management and production system will also be used to facilitate rapid and flexible access to - and publication in various forms of  - the details which are held.  A library of supporting material will also be maintained.
