The Bamford line is the maternal side of Agnes's ancestry. Her mother, May Dorothy Bamford was almost certainly, like her siblings, born in the Bombay area. Agnes's grandfather however, who had been a Captain in the Indian Army, is known to have been born in Woolwich, London in 1869  but it is not known exactly when he had arrived in India.
